Want to know a bit about the Valley Oak Woodlands while getting in your steps? Join us at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 5 for “The Everything Bagel Nature Walk” at Oak Grove Regional Park (meet at the Yokuts Trailhead). Presented by the Oak Grove Nature Center, join docent and former National Park Ranger Margaret Pearson Pinkham for a one-hour trail walk to learn a little about the plants, birds and furry animals. ASTRONOMY DAY IN THE PARK SET FOR MAY 18

Learn about astronomy and astronomical events during the Astronomy Day In The Park on Sat., May 18 beginning at 4 p.m. at the Nature Center at Oak Grove Regional Park. MUGGLE WORLD HERBOLOGY WALK MAY 19

Explore the Dark Forest (Native Plant Garden & Trail) during Professor Sprout's Muggle World Herbology Walk, held the third Sunday of the month - May 19, June 16, July 21 & Aug. 18 - at 10 a.m. at Oak Grove Regional Park's Nature Center. Learn about magical properties of native plants and how some are related to the Muggle World during this 45-min., family-friendly walk. CATFISH DERBY COMING JUNE 1

Come fish 1,700 lbs. of Catfish for prizes during the Catfish Derby on Sat., June 1 at Oak Grove Regional Park. Gates open 6:15 a.m., last weigh-in 12:30 p.m.  Kids fish FREE, $5 cash for anglers age 16 and older (valid CA. fishing license required). Parking $6 cash. FLYER

MICKE GROVE ZOO, FUN TOWN

As a reminder, Micke Grove Zoo is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fun Town is closed at this time (miniature golf coming soon!).

NATURE KIT FOR KIDS AT NATURE CENTER

Kids 12 and under can receive a free Nature Kit (while supplies last) during their visit to Oak Grove Regional Park's Nature Center. The center is open weekends from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free, parking $6 cash. For more information, or to book a school tour, call the Nature Center at (209) 953-8814.
