Boating and Camping

Plan Your Next Weekend Vacation With Us.

Boating

Westgate Landing

Boating access to the beautiful Delta waterways is available through three of our regional parks. Dos Reis Regional Park, located alongside the San Joaquin River, offers a floating dock with boat launching capabilities. Westgate Landing Regional Park, located on the Mokelumne River, has overnight boat docking and a fishing pier. Boat docking at Westgate is $20 per slip per night. Boats with a width of 10 ft. or more will be required to rent two slips. Each park offers R.V. and tent camping.

At Mossdale Crossing Regional Park, a large, two-lane boat ramp with floating dock gives access to the San Joaquin, Middle and Old Rivers.

Fishing

Fishing

A number of fishing areas are available in San Joaquin County regional parks. At Oak Grove Regional Park, a 10-acre lake is stocked annually with seasonal Catfish and Trout. We offer three  fishing derbies, The Catfish Derby (1st Sat. in June), the Trout Bout (third Sat. in Nov.) and the Bob McMillen Memorial Fishing Tournament (now the 1st Sat. in March) - each offering opportunities for anglers to experience fishing, some for the very first time. Fishing at Oak Grove is $5 for those 16 years and older - a valid California fishing license is required since all Dept. of Fish and Game regulations apply.

At Dos Reis Regional Park, fishing access to the San Joaquin River is available via the park's floating dock and boat launching capabilities. The San Joaquin can also be reached from Mossdale Crossing Regional Park, which has a large, two-lane boat ramp with floating dock.

Westgate Landing Regional Park, one of three parks located on the Mokelumne River, has overnight boat docking and a fishing pier, while Stillman L. Magee Regional Park features fishing at the river's edge and Woodbridge Regional Park offers a riparian environment where fishing enthusiasts snag Trout, Black Bass and Catfish (California Dept. of Fish and Game regulations apply).

Camping

RV Tent Camping

Two of our regional parks, Dos Reis and Westgate Landing, offer R.V. and tent camping at reasonable prices.

Dos Reis, located off Interstate 5 just west of Lathrop, offers 26 R.V. sites with full hook-ups and shower facilities. Tent camping is also available from 12 noon Friday through 8 a.m. Monday and holidays. Dos Reis also features boat launching into the Delta, along with picnic tables, barbecues, horseshoe pits and a children's play area.

Westgate Landing has 14 R.V./tent campsites (no hook-ups available), a fishing pier, overnight boat docking and day-use picnic sites. The park (located north of Highway 12 near Terminous) is tucked in along the Mokelumne River.

To book a campsite at least three weeks prior to desired date, call (209) 953-8800 or 331-7400.

Paddleboat

Paddleboats

One way to enjoy Oak Grove Regional Park's 10-acre lake is by riding a Paddleboat. The water "vehicles" are available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from April to the first week of October (weather permitting). Thirty-minute rentals are $6 for standard Paddleboats and $10 for specialty Paddleboats and Aquacycles.
