Stillman Magee Closed June 29-July 1 for Controlled Burn

Stillman Magee Regional Park will be closed to the public from June 29 through July 1, 2026 while a carefully planned and supervised controlled burn is conducted in partnership with Clements Fire Department.

This important wildfire mitigation project helps reduce vegetation that can fuel wildfires while maintaining fire breaks to slow the spread of future fires. The effort also provides valuable training opportunities for Clements Fire Department personnel, allowing firefighters to strengthen their skills in a controlled environment before responding to real-world wildfire incidents.

The park is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, July 2 in time for visitors to enjoy the park over the Fourth of July holiday.

Visitors planning to float or kayak the Mokelumne River should note that disembarking at Stillman Magee Regional Park will not be permitted during the closure. Please plan your trip accordingly.
